Monday morning meeting!

Hey guys,
I hope you all had a great weekend! I did. Sweden got a new Prime Minister in yesterdays election which I'm very excited about! I was following as the results of the election came in and it was really close there for a while. A new day and age for Sweden, I am excited about it.

This morning I had a great meeting with my fellow sales associates in my district. My district coordinator is a great guy and he has really good managing skills. He is also an excellent sales person and I really learn a lot just by listening to his mistakes and successes. Since the whole district is new there are lots of beginners just like me, but most of them have already got their writing number and they of course have their Life & Health license. Hearing their struggles and good things that they make happen is really a benefit to me, it will really help me as I get started in the middle of next month as well. So I'm excited! They are all fun people too and we're a great team, which absolutely helps. It is a bit of a drive to go to the meeting every Monday, but I do think it helps me stay focused and on track, so I think it's important that I do go every week.

For the rest of today I'm going to keep working on my studying and trying to get my email database started. I need to run a couple of updates on my computer and things like that as well.

Anyways, have a great Monday!

Happy Birthday dad!

Today is my father's birthday. Family celebrations always makes me miss home and wish that I was closer to Sweden. Luckily the technology of today helps me stay in touch with my family, and today we had a nice little coffee break together via webcam. My mom, dad and grandmother were in Sweden, Justin and I on the other side of the Atlantic, and it really came close to feeling like we were in the same room. My dad showed us the wheel cap of his airplane that broke this week as he accidentally drove into a mole hill as he landed (and shared his new found hatred for moles, haha!), and we were able to see the birthday cake and the fine china they pulled out for the special occasion. It is quite special that we can share these moments with my family back home.

Today is election day in Sweden. Even though I'm not a resident anymore, I certainly is a citizen and am proud of my heritage, which explains the Swedish flag I will have as my front license plate :-X I am pimping my Jeep up to be a Swede-mobil! Anyway, I am excited about the elections and hope that we will have a shift of power and send Göran to the retirement home. I mail-voted weeks ago and will be following the "Valvaka" through the Swedish Public television's online broadcast.

I think this will be a nice Sunday. I am going to study lots, go grocery shopping and prepare for my Sales Associate meeting tomorrow morning. The weather is gorgeous, so my husband and I are going for a nice little walk this morning.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

To sum up the work week..

Well, I don't really feel like I'm working yet. Because I'm not really.. My husband and I are kind of enjoying this time "off" before he gets the hot shot job I know is just around the corner and before I go to Sales School. We start our mornings by laying on the floor in our living room with our laptops. Yes, we don't have much furniture yet.. At all. Basically we just have a kitchen table with two chairs and then a really nice bed. And two dressers. Isn't that pathetic? But you know what, it's kind of romantic. We are starting off, in a new place, we're newlyweds and we are only just starting our professional lives. We don't want to buy a whole bunch of stuff before we have steady paychecks coming in, so yes, we do spend a lot of time on the floor :-X I have started building my office with folders and files, but no desk yet.

So anyways, we start our mornings with our laptops on the floor, with a couple of cups of coffee (which we put on a towel on the floor), then we go for a run or for a brisk powerwalk. Then I cook us some breakfast and we get cleaned up. I study some for my state exam, Justin works on his stuff.. We run errands, before we know it it is night again! The days come and go. And you know what, I'm really trying to enjoy them! Soon enough, Justin will have his career started and I will be a Sales School graduate and start my career full throttle. I am really excited about it, but I think it's important to enjoy this time we have together now.

Today we were out looking for homes. We are trying to get a feel for the housing market here and what we like and don't like so that we are well prepared for buying a wonderful home when the time is right. I can't wait! I want a dog (or too!) and a little yard where I can plant pretty flowers. And of course a nice office where I can go about my business ;-)

I think it's time for bed. I have my Arbonne thermal fusion mask on, which really makes my skin soft like a baby's bottom. Check out Arbonne at: www.arbonne.com . If you want something, let me know, I sell that too!

Have a wonderful weekend guys! Life is short, you better enjoy it :-)

Welcome!

Welcome to my Sales associate blog! I'm currently working on my NC state Life & Health insurance license so that I can get appointed with the company I will work for. It surely is a lot of hard work and a lot of material to go through, but I'm excited to get it done and to get started as an associate.
I created this blog so that I can document this path that I'm about to take, where the goal of course is to become a very successful associate. When I become a manager this will be a good thing for me to look back on, to remember my struggles and my initial reactions to it all.

Any comments, suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated. I am a newbie and I would love to get opinons along the way!

Have a wonderful day!
